Wine Farms
Plett Wine-lands currently includes more than 18 wine farms. Plett is recognised as one of South Africa’s newest “Wine of Origin” regions.
The climate makes it conducive to cooler-climate wines such as Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Noir. The area currently creates 8 Méthode Cap Classique style wines – these are wines that are produced in the traditional Champagne method. Many of the wine farms offer picnics, hiking trails, tours, and wine tastings.
The first wine farm to be established in the regions was Bramon Wine estate in 2001. The Wine estate is a 25-minute drive from The Sanctuary. The restaurant at Bramon, set in the vineyards, is a popular lunch destination.
